Required Education and Experience: High School graduate or GED. .

Preferred Education and Experience: Minimum of one (1) related experience.

Essential Functions

Assists nursing personnel in the Operating Rooms as needed; Performs between case decontamination and terminal cleaning of the rooms daily. Assists with cleaning of windows and blinds in restricted and semi-restricted areas each month. Assists with patient positioning as needed. Holds extremities for preps. Assists with moving of patients in preparation for transport. Places stretchers outside of ORs.

Assists anesthesia personnel in the Operating Room as needed; Decontaminates anesthesia equipment (i.e. laryngoscope blades, oral airways, writing surfaces, etc.). Inspects equipment (B/P cuffs, cables, etc.) prior to the start of the day, replacing as needed. Maintains adequate room stock according to established par levels. Stocks anesthesia supplies on individual anesthesia carts. Responds to anesthesia needs throughout the day. Delivers needed supplies and equipment to rooms during surgery as needed.

Assists with medical gases; Checks all medical gases makes calls for service as needed.

Performs routine and terminal cleaning of Operating Room between cases and at finish of the schedule including washing of walls, ceiling, floors, and the use of special equipment such as a mop system and buffing machines, etc. Dusts furniture. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
