Shift Hours/Days:: | Full Time - M-F; Rotating shift - Morning 5:15am-1:45pm (1 day a week will be 5:15am-3:30pm) & Closing shift 10am-6:30pm. |
Degree Required/Education: | High School/GED |
Minimum Years of Experience: | >1 |
Required Education and Experience: High School graduate or GED. Current CPR certification.
Preferred Education and Experience: Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of directly related experience, previous experience in a medical admitting department, familiar with computerized registration systems preferred.
Essential Functions
Promotes a positive image of Watson Clinic Surgical Center on a daily basis through interaction with patients and their families, clinical staff and visitors.
Verifies patient information, prepares admitting paperwork and makes necessary entries to register patients and initiate surgical visits.
Initiates patient charts and completes appropriate labeling for the current days schedule, add on or emergency cases.
Has the patient complete the necessary consent forms and collects any payments due at admissions.
Maintains a well organized workspace, while keeping in mind that the admissions work area is only one of many areas that forms the opinions of patients, visitors and vendors about Watson Clinic Surgical Center.
Communicates with Clinical staff in order to achieve an efficient and patient friendly workflow of patients through the facility.
Assists with the checking in and out of patient charts that are sent between the facility and HIMS Department.
Rotation of position will be based on patient census and departmental rotation schedule. While at the campus you will be responsible for assisting with daily clerical duties as outlined on the daily task checklist.
Stays current on current practices by the scheduling, verification and accounts receivable departments in order to better assist patient questions and concerns while at the facility.
Assists with the training of new and current employees in the Admissions department.
Assists with receiving and distribution of ingoing/outgoing mail and verifies any delivered goods to the receipt.
Ensures that the patient waiting area is kept tidy, magazines are up to date and nourishments are replenished as necessary.
Assist with scheduling of GI and OR when needed
