Physician Practice Analyst - Full Time

Location: Lakeland, FL
Shift Hours/Days:: M-F 8-5
Degree Required/Education: Bachelors (Any)
Minimum Years of Experience: 2

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or other related field is required. At least two years’ experience in an analytical role in a healthcare organization. Strong computer skills, to include database management, word processing, spreadsheets (Excel), email and the internet.

Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration, or other relevant field is preferred. Experience in an analytical role in a multi-specialty physician practice setting. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.

Summary/Objective: Conducts a range of specialized analysis of individual physician practices to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, increased productivity, maximized reimbursement and better expense management, all within the context of group practice and in accordance with relevant laws, payor requirements and Clinic policies.

Essential Functions

  • Researches and analyzes various medical practice related issues and provides recommendations for problem resolution;
  • Conducts analysis of new or enhanced billing opportunities and identifies opportunities for enhanced productivity and revenue.
  • Identifies benchmarks and best practices with which to compare individual practices within specific specialties;
  • Ensures operating policies, procedures and regulations are followed as identified by Clinic governing bodies and the Board of Directors;
  • Analyzes and evaluates the provision of patient services within the practice;
  • Compiles and organizes relevant practice data and creates complex ad hoc data analysis and reports as appropriate;
  • Provides recommendations to Managing Partner and Senior Management;
  • Recommends systems and procedures to improve communications and to provide feedback to physicians regarding their practices;
  • May develop and conduct or participate in specialized presentation and training covering operations and/or technical medical practice information;
  • Identifies specific performance indicators to consistently monitor physician practices and provide feedback to providers, customized by specialty;
  • Uses data to identify patterns and trends and ensures data integrity;
  • May analyze current and potential markets for patient services and identify areas of potential growth for the practice;
  • Works with Clinic Directors to provide guidance in the implementation of operations changes as recommended and approved by the Managing Partner and Senior Management;
